| Meyers Pine Crest Store.
Here is an excellent photo of Grace making a note behind the counter in the store. The store existed for the sole purpose of serving the people in the cottages. It did not make money, in fact I am told it lost money, but it was a tremendous convenience for the vacationers. Someone ALWAYS had to be around to mind the store so it tied up a person all day to have it open. I can remember going to town with Grandpa Ralph, he went every day, and picking up the needed items for the store, getting them back to the house and erasing the prices and remarking them a penny or two more. The store was also a kind of meeting room for the adults to talk. Remember ringing the bell for service? It can be seen next to the hand crank cash register.
